Embodying Permaculture – 5 Senses Exploration through Movement, Theater & Music

Embodying Permaculture: 5 Senses Exploration through Movement, Theater and Music is an experience designed to integrate mind, body, heart and spirit with the values and principles of permaculture. As facilitators we will take participants through a journey of body centered awareness practices including transformational theater, embodied movement, guided music creation, vinyasa yoga flow, and guided visualization meditations activating the 5 senses and permaculture. We will engage in interactive games and exercises for each of the 5 senses. We will also facilitate a Solutionary discussion counsel where the participants will have the opportunity to share their vision of being a co-creative change-maker in a thriving sustainable community.  When we are fully in alignment with our true selves as multidimensional beings, we develop a strong connection to ourselves, our community and our environment.
About our Blooming Biodiversity Permaculture Tour
Who Are We?

The Solutionaries are a diverse team of social-environmental activists, dedicated to co-creating a resilient and regenerative lifestyle for ourselves, our local and global community, our natural world, and future generations. We are co-organizing the Blooming Biodiversity Tour which begins this September on the West Coast. Our tour will include empowering days of action with interactive workshops for social and environmental evolution including:permaculture and biodynamic farming/gardening, live music, yoga/healing arts,expressive/visionary arts, ecstatic dance, integration of intentional communities and ecovillages.

What Are We Doing?
In every location, we will be gathering communities for the integration of permaculture principles and values, holistic education and transformational festival culture, in action. We are inviting anyone who feels enthusiastically empowered to bring their skill-sets and passion to the co-creation of this tour. Through these action days participants will experience the power of living in harmony with nature and supporting each other in community.

The Purpose:

  • To help shift the paradigm from a corporate ruled industrial complex to an intentional, community-created, thriving co-existence.
  • To nurture the blooming of regenerative biodiversity everywhere we go.
  • To envision and strategize ways to transcend existing patterns of global inequality.
  • To empower community to restore the commons and a culturally rich lifestyle.
  • To generate a self-sustaining livelihood with community initiated food gardens and organic innovative design.
  • To initiate conversations and catalyze the process of soil and ecosystem restoration, water purification and green energy system installation (ie: solar/wind power).
  • To inspire a new world vision for communities to live in a way that is healthy for the planet and humanity.
  • To act locally and connect globally.
  • To foster cross-cultural and intergenerational collaboration.
  • To share healing, visionary and expressive art, music and dance. Because if it’s not fun it’s not sustainable.
  • To put solutions into action, and bring forth our greatest potential through collaborative symbiosis.
What is Biodiversity?

Biodiversity “is the term given to the variety of life on Earth. It is the variety within and between all species of plants, animals and microorganisms and the ecosystems within which they live and interact.” “It also refers to the multitude of different ecosystems in which species form unique communities, interacting with one another and the air, water and soil.” “All species depend on other species for survival. Ecosystems vary in size. A large stand of forest or a small pond can each be described as an ecosystem.  Ecosystem diversity refers to the variety of ecosystems in a given place. Within any broader landscape there is a mosaic of interconnected ecosystems. To conserve biodiversity, conservation at the landscape level is critical. This enables the protection of a representative array of interacting ecosystems and their associated species and genetic diversity.”

What is a Shift to An Ecological, Regenerative New Paradigm?

Environmental Sociology advocates for a shift to an ecological paradigm that recognizes human-ecosystem interdependence and biological limits to the societal phenomena. Many people around the world see great danger in our current social paradigm’s desire for constant unconstrained growth. It is clear there is not endless bounty of resources and that growth should not be the driving force. Through the development and globalization, people around the world are using more resources than the earth can renew and therefore it is becoming clear that if we continue at current rates we will expend all our natural resources in trying to sustain our overpopulated world. Many Environmentalists and activists see the current crisis we face in overpopulation and environmental destruction of land and want large-scale changes in countries policies and institutions. Consumers are identifying that they must take responsibility for their consumer choices and buy only what they truly need, recognizing that the process of manufacturing, products brought into the store and then quickly thrown away must change. A real world solution to shift the dominant social paradigm is living in Ecovillages
