Forget those creepy clowns from childhood nightmares – come learn how to use the craft of clowning and play to bring life and joy into our movements. This is an open a discussion and council on what it means to be an “Ally” in today’s day and age. This is more than race or color, sex, gender, orientation, faith, nationalism, ability, classs, beliefs… this is about all of that AND a deep desire to dissolve that which separates us by being heard, seen, and empathized with. When we come together in the shared space of council we see the experiences that unite us, we connect through differences, we empathize with challenges, and we support and resource one another in ways we couldn’t do on our own, because we’re not alone in our efforts to create change. This intensive will offer tangible dos and don’ts, tools and wisdom to walk away and step into the inner and outer actions needed to be a ally, which is really just doing the right thing.

Urban Healer’s Ceremony for Male Vulnerability is an opportunity for mvn (men+vulnerability) to create deeper bonds of emotional support through the healing power of sharing vulnerability. In this workshop Jewel Love, the Creative Director of Urban Healers, will give each mvn an opportunity to express the parts of himself that are hidden, repressed, and denied, in a supportive way. His goal is to support immediate bonds of brotherhood that help reset the definition of manhood for participants in a more inclusive and nurturing way.

Blessed water temples ~ together we shall gather in circle and create a sacred container for us to take a dive into the deep waters of our wombs. Through guided meditation and connecting to these waters we will come to know our own self and soul more intimately. In these depths we will receive a healing and activating transmission from the Humpback Whale Tribes who share their ancient wisdom with gigantic love and support. In collective ritual we will activate our bodies as illuminated water temples and speak to what it means to walk this earth as a protector of the waters and all of her life-giving magic. In this workshop, Forrest Hurd and Douglas Reil will explore the history of compassion programs, the impacts of legalization, the work with the Bureau of Cannabis Control and legislators to address the needs of vulnerable communities, and possible future models for approaches to bring effective cannabis therapies to all.

Forrest Hurd and Douglas Reil, founding members of the California Compassion Coalition, have been on the front lines working to restore compassionate use and establish compliant pathways for programs serving the most vulnerable communities in California. In this workshop, they will explore the history of compassion programs, the impacts of legalization, the work with the Bureau of Cannabis Control and legislators to address the needs of vulnerable communities, and possible future models for approaches to bring effective cannabis therapies to all.

Key areas we will cover include:

• The Prop 215 era and the foundations of compassionate use
• Prop 64 and the impact of legalization on compassion programs
• Updates on the fight to establish a compliant pathway to serve vulnerable communities

Introduction and exploration of sustainability practices that both repair broken parts of the water cycle, and increase water resilience in communities and villages to be prepared, conscious, and motivated to change the current pattern amidst an unknown future. Systems/Themes to be explored include: Setting up rainwater catchment systems on a micro level and also efforts made in whole villages, the importance of grey water systems, and water filtration systems to eliminate plastic water bottles practices to reduce water consumption. This workshop will examine our outlook on death as an integral part of a sustainable and rejuvenative aspect of how we relate to the Earth. For a millennium people have cared for each other in life and in death. It is a natural part of who we are as responsible earthlings. In our current time, we have allowed a system for hire to take over and determine death practice. This practice is an abusive relationship to natural Earth living. It is time to reclaim hands-on care of death.
