We delve into the world of public speaking during this workshop, sharing tips and best practices while providing a safe space for participants to practice speaking about a topic of their choice.

Are you one of those individuals whose greatest fear is public speaking? Want to share your inspirational story about permaculture but sure where to start? This workshop will share best practices in public speaking, and then you will get to try your hand at public speaking and sharing your story. HIGHLY recommended for individuals who are giving RED talks – come practice your talk here!

Permaculture has a million inspirational stories but so few are told! This workshop hopes to inspire us to speak loudly and clearly about how we can effectively share our stories. We will have one inspirational speaker (probably Brandi Mack) speak, and ask participants to practice speaking and sharing their own stories. Toastmasters International will be the source of our best practices in public speaking.

Susan Silber: Susan was introduced to community resilience after learning about the Transition Movement and co-founded the Berkeley Transition Initiative five years ago. Susan was co-producer of the Building Resilience Communities Convergence in both 2013 and 2015, and Community Resilience Challenge for two years. She also worked as an environmental educator for the past 25 years, and is proud to have introduced thousands of youth to the joys of nature, working with the Green Schools Initiative, Hostelling International, the Peace Corps and other programs.
