Judy Abeja Hummel has been involved in social and environmental activism since high school. She has lived in intentional community for most of her “adult” life (about 20 years total), doing everything from accounting and facilitating meetings to milking goats and cows. Her passion for permaculture and community led her to Emerald Earth Sanctuary 11 years ago, where she currently lives with her husband Tom and 12-year-old son Garnet. Abeja also works as a therapeutic bodyworker and a teacher of the Gokhale Method, a form of postural education to help folks do the good work pain-free.
