Sara Smith-Rubio is an urban homesteader and mother in Sacramento. She was blessed to be raised white in the heart of a black community in Berkeley California. Sara holds PDC’s from both the Instituto de Permacultura e Ecovilas do Cerrado and the Regenerative Design Institute. She complete a B.S. in Health Education, and a minor in Holistic Health from San Francisco State University. She worked for 6 years at Soil Born Farms Urban Agriculture & Education Project before building community from the home out as a stay-at-home-mom. Mrs. Smith-Rubio would like to see an ecological garden in every home, and is interested in building bridges cross culturally.
