Susan Silber

Susan has worked as both a community organizer and environmental educator for the past 25 years. She is proud to have introduced thousands of youth to the joys of nature, working with the Green Schools Initiative, Hostelling International, the Peace Corps and other educational programs. Susan is passionate about promoting the value of environmental education and Green Schools programs, and founded the Nature’s Voices Project, a program of the Green Schools Alliance which empowers youth to speak out about their inspirational environmental education experiences. Susan was introduced to community resilience after learning about the Transition Movement, and has since moved on to launch the NorCal Resilience Network, to promote community-based and permaculture-inspired projects and organizations in Northern California. She has also been on the organizing committee for the Convergence for the past five years.
