Rachel Economy is a writer, facilitator, artist, and permaculture educator and practitioner living in Berkeley, California. She has studied, practiced, and taught ecological gardening, sustainable farming, and permaculture practices in urban and rural environments across the country for almost a decade. In her work with students of all ages, Rachel focuses on social permaculture — re-writing the stories that create human and ecological systems, with an eye to justice and resilience. Rachel holds a Masters in Social Innovation and Sustainability from Goddard College, is a working poet and writer, and is currently attempting to grow an absurd number of plants in the space between her apartment and her neighbors’ driveway.
