This presentation will show and tell greening a suburban property and neighborhood in Eugene, Oregon for taking care of more needs closer to home – food, water, energy, “social security.”

The presentation will also touch on making creative use of “allies and assets” found in almost any city or town. While the mainstream economy, culture and its participants are responsible for an enormous amount of damage to people and planet, it also provides us with a remarkable variety of allies and assets to work with for creating green and resilient homes and neighborhoods.

Stories from Portland, Seattle, Olympia, Eugene, Boston. The presentation will also take a look at  “green capital accumulation” – how to pay for the changes many of us would like to see and transform the economy at the same time.
