Joel is a teacher and tracker of patterns in landscapes of all sorts. His early work of his thirty years in permaculture is documented in both the book Gaia’s Garden and the video 30 Years Greening the Desert, Flowering Tree. He helped to establish the seed library that became Seeds of Change, green building standards for Abu Dhabi, a sustainability plan for nine counties in New York State, and has taught hundreds of students on four continents. A founding member of Regenesis Collaborative he has helped to pioneer Regnerative Development in community scale projects across the Globe. His focus is on shifting our thinking from a mechanistic approach to seeing, thinking, and working as living systems do.
