Hip Hop For Change Inc. will produce an educational workshop that teaches about the history and importance of hip hop culture. Together participants will take the corporate veil depicting our culture as violent, misogynistic, homophobic, and materialistic, and show Hip Hop in its true light, rooted in the principles of Peace, Love, Unity, and Having Fun! Hip-Hop is a product of creative self-expression from America’s marginalized and oppressed urban communities. Within Hip-Hop’s rich history are lessons regarding self-identity, protest and dissent, and empowerment that are relevant to today’s communities more than ever.
