Jesse Grimes is a professional permaculture designer, eco-landscaper, and educator, originally from San Clemente, California. After a 5 year career in the municipal water industry, he began traveling the west coast of North America to study permaculture and visit a variety of demonstration sites, farms, and homesteads. This journey has brought him from installing rainwater harvesting landscapes in Southern California, to homesteading in Montana, working on underground housing with Mike Oehler in Idaho, building rocket mass heaters and the straw bale schoolhouse at Standing Rock, and most recently to attending the Farm School and Eco-Landscape Mastery program at the Permaculture Skills Center in Sebastopol, California. Along the way he has encountered countless practical examples for living in right relationship with the Earth, and documented much of his experience through his One Heart Fire video series (Jesse Grimes on Youtube). He is currently living and working near Grass Valley, California, operating Earth Care Design, an eco-landscape design/install/consultation business, and offering educational workshops through One Heart Fire.
