Susan is co-producer of the Building Resilience Communities Convergence. She has worked as both a community organizer and environmental educator for the past 25 years. She is proud to have introduced thousands of youth to the joys of nature, working with the Green Schools Initiative, Hostelling International, the Peace Corps and other educational programs. Susan is passionate about promoting the value of environmental education and Green Schools programs, and founded the Nature’s Voices Project, a program of the Green Schools Alliance which empowers youth to speak out about their inspirational environmental education experiences. Susan was introduced to community resilience after learning about the Transition Movement and co-founded the Berkeley Transition Initiative five years ago. She has consulted and co-ran the East Bay Community Resilience Challenge; and most is thrilled to be launching the NorCal Community Resilience Network at this Convergence.
